EZ Watts — Terms of Service (Mobile App)

The short version

  • EZ Watts is a calculator tool — results are estimates, not professional electrical advice.

  • Use the app responsibly. Don't rely on it as your only source of truth for electrical installations.

  • A free version is available to everyone. A paid subscription unlocks additional features.

  • If you pay and change your mind, you have 30 days to request a refund.

  • We can suspend or terminate access if these terms are violated.

  • Texas law governs these terms.

1. Who We Are

EZ Watts is operated by Bad Kitty Ventures LLC, based in Houston, Texas. By using the EZ Watts app at https://ezwatts.app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. What EZ Watts Is (and Isn't)

EZ Watts provides battery runtime calculators, solar estimators, wire gauge tools, and related off-grid power planning tools. These are estimation tools only.

By using EZ Watts you acknowledge that:

  • All calculator results are estimates, not guaranteed or precise measurements

  • Results are not a substitute for professional electrical advice, engineering consultation, or code-compliant installation

  • You should always consult a qualified electrician before making any electrical installation decisions

  • Local building codes, utility requirements, weather conditions, and site-specific factors can significantly affect real-world results

  • You are solely responsible for verifying all calculations independently before acting on them

We are not responsible for any damages, fires, injuries, equipment failures, or financial losses resulting from reliance on EZ Watts calculator outputs. See Section 8 for our full liability disclaimer.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use EZ Watts. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian review these terms.

4. Your Account & the Feedback System

EZ Watts does not require you to create an account to use the app. If you use our in-app feedback or support feature, you may optionally provide an email address. You are responsible for ensuring any information you submit is accurate and not misleading.

You agree not to:

  • Submit false, abusive, or spam messages through the feedback system

  • Attempt to impersonate another person or entity

  • Use the feedback system for any unlawful purpose

5. Free and Paid Access

Free Tier

The core features of EZ Watts are available for free. We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue any free features at any time with reasonable notice.

Paid Subscription

EZ Watts offers an optional paid subscription that unlocks additional features. By subscribing you agree to the following:

  • Billing: Your subscription is billed annually and auto-renews at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

  • Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will not be charged again but will retain access until the period ends.

  • Refunds: If you are unsatisfied with your subscription, you may request a full refund within 30 days of your initial purchase or renewal date by contacting privacy@ezwatts.net. Refund requests made after 30 days are not guaranteed and are considered at our discretion.

  • Price changes: We may change subscription pricing with reasonable advance notice. Continued use after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use EZ Watts only for its intended purpose — personal off-grid power planning and education. You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute any part of the app

  • Attempt to access our database, backend systems, or other users' data

  • Use the app in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its functionality

  • Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the app

  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose

7. Intellectual Property

All content, tools, design, branding, and code within EZ Watts are owned by Bad Kitty Ventures LLC or its licensors. Nothing in these terms grants you any ownership rights. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

EZ Watts is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available

  • Calculator results will be accurate, complete, or suitable for your specific situation

  • The app is free from bugs, viruses, or other harmful components

Electrical work carries inherent risk. EZ Watts tools are planning aids only. Always follow applicable electrical codes, use proper safety equipment, and consult a licensed professional before any installation.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bad Kitty Ventures LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of EZ Watts — including but not limited to property damage, electrical fires, personal injury, equipment failure, or financial loss.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the app shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or $0 if you are a free user).

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to EZ Watts at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these terms or are using the app in a harmful or unlawful way. If you have an active paid subscription at the time of termination due to a violation, refunds are not guaranteed.

You may stop using EZ Watts at any time.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Harris County, Texas.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top. Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notice. Continued use of EZ Watts after updated terms are posted constitutes your acceptance.
